It's old news by now, but in early May we Smithies travelled back to Northampton and rejoined our sisterhood for our 5 year reunion. Despite being put up in the crappiest house on campus, we had a grand old time. Highlights included:
1. Ice cream at Herrells (once a day everyday four days in a row)
2. Karaoke at the World War II club (of which we are now all year-long members, and I have the membership card to prove it)
3. A trip to the Sophia Smith Archives where Liz and I poured over the diaries of Blanche Ames.
4. Breakfast with a small group from the class of 1951, who were celebrating their 55th. They were the sweetest ladies with the best stories, and real top-notch nicknames: Winky, Midge, and Tinks. And, when Elizabeth introduced herself, on woman asked, "Do you go by Libby or Betsy?"
We shopped (by the way - I just saw the $15 shoes I bought at 25 Central for sale here at a store by my house for $85. Talk about a good deal!), we ate, we drank, and I became very popular among the local homeless community ("so that's what the guys have been talking about!")
